Introduction to the Mac

This event from September 2024, is taught by our friend and colleague Emily Romero. In addition to her work in teaching and research, Emily is a daily, enthusiastic Mac user. Here, she introduces you to the Mac from a blindness perspective, shares how its keys differ from those on a PC, the types of apps that are similar to those found on a PC, key differences in apps, and tips on using Siri, the Mac's voice assistant. She also demos several applications including the Dock, Finder, Chess, the dictionary, Pages, and zoom. You'll also learn about an opportunity to learn much more about the Mac from Emily. Whether you're just curious about the Mac, a current user wanting to increase your knowledge, or someone who's undecided as to whether the Mac may prove a good option for your needs, this event is here to help.
