Stay Safe From Scams

This event occurred in mid June 2023. We did something a little different for this event. Rather than discussing specific technology or modifications, we talked about the very scary world of scams; how do they occur, how do they harm those who fall for them, and how do we avoid dangerous scam tactics? We specifically talk about scams as they may affect those who are blind or visually impaired. Unfortunately, scams are everywhere, and caution is essential to keep our hard-earned money in our pockets. Learn the basics of email, website, phone, snail mail, and online dating/romance scams, and strategies for keeping yourself protected.
